Training day and Monday morning

2012-06-18 14:59 by Graham Meadows (comments: 0)

Had a training day for all the summer school teachers. It is the only real opportunity to get a large majority of them together and go through all the things that we want them to do. It was a long, tiring day but useful I hope. We spoke about the academic part, then had lunch, then spoke in depth about the testing day, and then had a look at the materials and ways to extend them. What would make our lives so much easier would be to have the test online. This would eliminate so many problems, and make life so much better and straightforward. We did this in my previous school and made the management of classes a piece of cake, and got 100s of students into class within minutes.

Had a text Saturday night from our welfare officer to say that couldn't find 3 Saudis. Monday morning came and found out that only 2 of them came. God knows what they were doing at the airport! The third Saudi is apparently coming later but haven't heard from agent. Won't do anything until we do.

Lots more life in school now with the start of the summer students which is really nice. Italians, Spanish, a few Saudis with a sprinkling of other nationalities.

Bought a printer but couldn't get it to work. I know the computer guys have their own system so don't want to mess around with anything too much.

All fun and games.
