Visas

If you are planning on coming to the UK on a student visa there are various requirements you must meet. As a UK education provider we are obliged to ensure we are only recruiting students who are genuinley interested in studying at our school and are not likely to abuse the immigration system. In order for us to issue you with a certificate of sponsorship we must be certain that you comply with the guidlines set out by UKBA relating to Tier 4 of the points based system. Students will be expected to have evidence of studying English before coming to the UK. We will only accept students at CEFR Level B1 ( Intermediate ) and above on a full student Tier 4 visa. Students below this level will be able to apply under the Student Visitor Visa category. You will be expected to show evidence of your previous English studies when you apply for your visa. You will also need to show that you can support yourself financially during your studies. For students on courses of less than 12 months you will need to be able to cover the full cost of your course plus £600 per month for each month of your course. You will be expected to show evidence of this at the time of applying for your visa. Europa School of English will not offer you a Certificate of Sponsorship unless we are sure that you can meet both of the criteria above



Course Fees

Full fees for accommodation and courses must be received by Europa School of English at least 2 weeks before the course commences. Where Europa has agreed to accept a deposit any outstanding balance must be settled on the first day of a student's course. Students will not be allowed to attend their class until full fees for their course have been paid. There is a 2.5% service charge for credit card payments. There is a fixed charge of 50p for switch card payments. All bank charges must be met by the student. Deposits and fees are not transferable from person to person.


Accommodation Fees

Accommodation cannot be confirmed until a student has received their visa. Host family accommodation runs from 12pm Sunday to 12pm the following Sunday. Extra nights accommodation are charged at 15 ukp per night. No refund is given if a student leaves their accommodation before the last Sunday of their stay. Where a student is coming from abroad full accommodation fees must be paid a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the accommodation. No accommodation will be booked until full fees have been paid. Where a student requires a visa no accommodation will be booked until the student has received their visa. Students must inform Europa School of their arrival time at least 2 days prior to their accommodation start date. Where a student finishes their course at Europa School of English they must leave their accommodation. No student should make a private arrangement with a host family to extend their stay. 


Refunds

Students will not be refunded any or part of their course or accommodation fees once they have started their course. No refunds will be given for late entry or early departure from a course. Where notice of cancellation is received in writing at least 20 days prior to the commencement of the course: 75% of all tuition fees will be refunded 2 weeks accommodation fees will be retained by the school and the remainder will be refunded. Where a student has been refused their visa prior to their course start date: Europa School will refund all fees minus an administration fee of 100 ukp. To receive a refund the student must provide Europa School with all the original documentation given to them by the school and their refusal documentation from the embassy concerned. Where a student is on a student visa and has decided to extend their studies with Europa: Europa School will refund all fees less the course fees used by the student up to the date of their refusal minus an administration fee of 100 ukp. To receive a refund the student must provide Europa School with all the original documentation given to them by the school and their refusal documentation from the embassy concerned. The school may exclude any student for poor attendance or misconduct. No refunds will be given where a student has been expelled from the school.


Liability and Health Insurance

Europa School of English, its representatives and staff are not liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury to persons or property however caused except where such liability is imposed by statute. It is the student’s responsibility to take out personal insurance against all risks, including ability to attend or continue a course and insurance for the payment of medical expenses. Before student travel, he/she should seek advice from the health authorities in their home country about what treatment will be covered. All non-UK European Area (EEA) nationals and their families should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) before coming to the UK even the course last more than 6 months long. If the student’s course is less than 6 months the student is only entitled to a very limited free NHS treatment. Europa School strongly recommend taking out medical insurance for the duration of student’s visit to the UK.


Data Protection

Europa School of English will need to use the information you provide on your enrolment form in order to process your enrolment. We will need to pass on this information to those involved in providing you with services relating to your study period at the school, such as the reservation of accommodation or the organisation of transfer services. Europa School of English may also provide your personal data to customs and immigration officials as required by UK law.


School Regulations

If you are in the UK on a UK Student Visa you must attend more than 80% of your lessons. If you consistently fail to attend your classes Europa School of English reserves the right to expel you from the school and inform the home office of their decision. If a member of staff feels that your behaviour in the classroom or around the school is disruptive and may be causing offence to other students he/she will inform the academic manager and the student will be subject to the schools disciplinary procedure. Europa School of English will not tolerate abusive behaviour or language (including harassment, bullying, damage to personal property and verbal and other abuse based on racial, sexual or religious differences). Failure to observe the requirements of the school regulations described here and in the student welcome pack may result in the student being expelled from the school. In case of expulsion students are not entitled to a refund of any kind and they will not be entitled to attend any further classes at the school.


Holidays

Students are only allowed to take holidays for a maximum of 4 weeks per period of study if their course is for more than 16 weeks. Holidays may also be granted in exceptional circumstances but this is at the sole discretion of the Director of the school. Holidays are taken at the expense of the student and no course extension or refund will be applicable. Students are not refunded for public holidays. The school is normally closed for two weeks over the Christmas period. In case your course extends over this period you will be given two extra weeks on the end of your course at the time of your enrolment.
