Your Language Course

Need to use English in your daily tasks at work and feel you could do with some help? Then the English At Work Add-On is just right for you. It has to be combined with our General English course in which our qualified native level teachers will help you gain more confidence when using the English language and improve your fluency and accuracy in speaking, writing, listening and reading.

English At Work Contents
This Add-On helps you improve all aspects of your work communication skills focusing on all areas in a professional context such as writing professional letters and emails, answering phone calls, taking a message, delivering presentations and much more.
The 10 additional lessons are designed for students with an elementary to advanced level of English.

During the English At Work lessons you will work on:

Planning, designing and delivering presentations
Planning, designing and delivering an elevator pitch
Negotiations, interviews and scheduling
Reading, listening to and responding to authentic business materials
Producing a range of business texts (letters, CVs, emails, social media posts, cover letters, reports etc)
Describing data

The 10 Add-on lessons take place Monday to Friday from 1:45 to 3:15 pm after the General English Course and a lunch breach.
If you have to quarantine on arrival you can join our free online / hybrid course, no extra fees!

How We Teach

Pair work, group work and individual study patterns: We believe a relaxed learning environment is the most effective way to improve so we use lots of games, task-based activities and discussions which gives our students the chance to use what they learn in real communicative contexts.
We have internet access in all classrooms and interactive whiteboards in some classrooms.
Our syllabus is based around the common European framework and we do a book rental system whereby you can pay a small deposit for a book which is returned when you leave. All other learning materials are provided. Our teachers’ resource room is well-stocked with classic and new teaching materials.
Homework is given daily to develop on what you do in class and one piece of homework each week is assessed.

General English In The Morning
09:30	Lessons 1 & 2 General English In the morning lessons, you are provided with language input in the form of texts, audio and visual material. You work with the material to develop your communicative skills to become more fluent and accurate in the English language.
11:00	Break Meet other students in our comfortable lounge.
11:30	Lessons 3 & 4 General English
13:00	Lunch Break Enjoy a delicious lunch in our school bistro.
Add-Ons In The Afternoon
13:45	English At Work The English At Work course helps you to develop your skills for all aspects of communication in professional contexts. The course includes Business communication (negotiating, presentations, elevator pitches) and Writing for business (reports, emails, CV and cover letters). We work with up-to-date business materials to give you an authentic learning experience.

Activities and Services designed for you...

In addition to the language course, we also offer an interesting social programme and different activities so you can make the most of your stay with us. Participation is free of charge and voluntary. Our spacious bistro is open for our students every day to study, chill out, meet friends or enjoy a delicious lunch.

Conversation Club

Tuesdays from 15:30 to 17:30

For all students we organise a Conversation Club once a week which is all about socialising with your fellow students while improving your English. We will provide you and the other students with a topic (suggestions are always welcome) that we will all discuss together. A couple of challenges will be set and you will be presented with the main vocabulary relevant to the topic.

Language Clinic

Fridays from 15:30 to 16:30

Unique to Europa we run a weekly language clinic for free! Each Friday afternoon one of our teachers will be on-hand to answer your questions and provide you with extra materials for you to practise.

Flash Objectives

Mondays in the first lesson

To make your learning as personalised as we can your teacher will ask you to come up with your weekly flash objective. This is an aspect of your learning that you want to focus on for that week. It could be the pronunciation of a particular sound or the mastering of a specific piece of grammar. These are reviewed weekly and make up part of your personal learning plan.

Monthly Tutorial

To make sure you are getting the most out of your time with us if you are staying 4 weeks or longer we have monthly one-to-one tutorials where you can spend time with your teacher to evaluate your progress, reflect on your learning and express any concerns you may have with your learning journey. You will need to make an appointment for this service.
