Pre-Med Foundation Programme
Prepare to access Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing degrees in one of England’s most beautiful cities!
For Direct Entry into Kursk State Medical University or Azerbaijan State Medical University, our Pre-Med Foundation Programme, in partnership with TRC Colleges, will enable you to study three sciences - Physics, Chemistry and Biology - plus improve your Mathematics, English for Academic Purposes and IELTS, along with Research and Study Skills. Also you will undertake a Russian Language module.
Kursk State Medical University (KSMU)
Established in 1934, KSMU was the first Russian university to offer medical courses in English and is acclaimed worldwide for the quality of its Teaching and Research. One of the largest universities in Russia, it is presently is the leading Higher Medical Establishment in Russia for English Medium Education & the most popular among the international students applying for undergraduate courses. Currently there are 1200 international students studying at the university, from over 30 countries.
Azerbaijan State Medical University (AMU)
AMU has prepared more than 63,000 fully qualified doctors and pharmacists and over 7,000 students from 21 countries are currently studying at the 7 faculties which include General Medicine, Paediatrics, Pharmacological and Dentistry. Facilities include 6 teaching buildings, scientific-research centre, health resort, publishing house and newspaper, sport complex with swimming pool, library and laboratories.
Academic entry requirements: Completion of 12/13 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with Pass Grades.
- Language support: All students will complete a course in English for Academic Purposes and take IELTS.
- Preparation for University: The Research and Study Skills component is an essential preparation for university, and will help you collaborate in groups, present ideas, manage your time, conduct research, make lecture notes, organise the content of essays and understand how to evaluate your work.
- Assessment and support: Progress is monitored by continuous assessment of coursework and by class tests. The final grade for each unit is based on a combination of coursework and end-of-course examinations.
Successful students will achieve grades A=71+%; B=61-70%; C=56-60%; D=51-55%; E=41-50%; U=0-40% for each of the units.
- Russian Language module: This will enable elementary level conversation skills, including introductions, talking about yourself, making enquiries, asking for directions, using public transport, shopping, etc. and will be a starting point for language studies which will be further developed once you are accepted onto a Medical programme.
