  • to complete a short language awareness assessment. The results are in line with the Common European Framework. This will take about 30 minutes.
  • Further we will ask you for a 30 GBP deposit payment for your course book. The amount will be returned to you on you last day in school after handing in your course book.
  • You will then have a short tour of the school.
  • Finally, we give you a short talk concerning your lessons i.e. what we expect of you, the course rental book system, rules and regulations, social programmes, what you can buy at the school, next of kin details, emergency numbers, regular testing, tutorials and self-assessments. We will then ask you if you have any questions

It is time to take a break at about 10.45am.
At 11.30am, you are introduced to your teacher and fellow students, and begin your first lesson.

To develop your fluency, you are given various activities and tasks to convey messages in English either in the written or oral form.

Additional Services and Social Programme

In addition to the courses we offer various additional services and activities that are free of charge to participate in.

Flash Objectives and your personal learning plan

To make your learning as personalised as we can every Monday morning your teacher will ask you to come up with your weekly flash objective.  This is an aspect of your learning that you want to focus on for that week.  It could be the pronunciation of a particular sound or the mastering of a specific piece of grammar.  These are reviewed weekly and make up part of your personal learning plan.

Conversation Club

For all students we organise a Conversation Club once per week. Participating is free of charge. The Conversation Club is all about socialising with your fellow students while improving your English.
We will provide you and the other students with a topic (suggestions are always welcome) that we will discuss all together. Also you will get two exercises and the most important vocabulary.
The Conversation Club takes place on Tuesdays from 15:30 to 17:30.

Language Clinic

Unique to Europa we run a weekly language clinic for free! Each Friday afternoon one of our teachers will be on-hand to answer your questions and provide you with extra materials for you to practise.

Monthly Tutorial

To make sure you are getting the most out of your time with us if you are staying 4 weeks or longer we have monthly one-to-one tutorials where you can spend time with your teacher to evaluate your progress, reflect on your learning and express any concerns you may have with.
